See now thats a person playing poker not a poker player.

A "poker player" by watching your table play which I have would have folded a small pair to you at a live cash table.

NOT Gambling !!!!!

A lot more control of the final out come in hold em- and yes the odds in your favor are increased tremendously based on knowledge of the game, mental emotional control.  There are so many parts of the game to being a efficient player, as you improve these your success increases and I believe ones view (gambling or not)of the game will change.

Compared to dice games, roulette, slots,  I would rather lose money getting my full house beaten by a strait flush than rolling some die across the felt.

ok here are some difentions of gambling.

Gamble- To bet on an uncertain outcome, as of a contest(isnt this what we do in poker, unless you can tell the future and now what cards are coming next.)Noone Nows what the river will be.

Gambling-the act of playing for stakes in the hope of winning

Gambling has a specific economic definition, referring to wagering money or something of material value on an event with an uncertain outcome with the primary intent of winning additional money and/or material goods. Typically, the outcome of the wager is evident within a short period of time.(we also do this in poker. When we enter tournament we pay entry fee to try and win  more money.Noone knows what place they are going to finish so the out come is uncertain.)

I got the definitions off the web.
