wow tuff question maikl. first off you really need to know the order of hands from top to bottom by memory. if you can not quote this off the top of your head. then you still have a long way to go. as far as how long depends on the person, and how committed they are to learning the game. some of the best ways to develop your skills is to play. play as many games as you can and then play ten more. play tell you hate the game. then play tell you love it again. just play and play and play some more. it takes a lot of hands and a lot of games against varied players to even begin to become good. (good is a very general term). as in how good? professional good. local tavern backroom good. free roll small buy in good. there are various level of good. but if your just wanting to know how long before you feel good about your abilities and have a grasp on what is happening and how to deal with it. it really depends on you and your commitment to the game.
so just get in there and play, play, play! after awhile you will begin to have the answer to your question. and then you will find the next level to the game and have to start learning all over again. so it really never ends in the game of learning poker. so go play!!

It takes longer to get good by any reasonable measure than it does to cut and paste the same message into multiple forums. 

i am lost but  thats why i am replying i have no clue what  copy paste has to do with there ?   but yes you do need to know what order things come in to get any where in this game or you will be just guessing that you have the best hand and be wrong about 95 percent of the time.
