Looking back over today's game I feel like I wasted an opportunity I may never have again. I'm making myself sick just thinking about it again. I played real tight to begin with folding everything cause I was getting nothing to play with. Then I won a couple of small pots and I guess got a little over confident.

When I drew 5c,7c in the Small Blind position with the blinds at 15/30 I took a chance and called when player 4 raised to 3xBB. I should have remained tight and folded but I didn't. The flop came Qc,2s,6c which made it even worse cause that put me on a flush draw which is hard for me to resist even with low hole cards. I bet 4xBB which obviously wasn't enough to scare anybody cause player 4 called and player 9 raised to 560. That right there should have been red flag number two that told me to fold but I ignored it. I called, player 4 reading the signs right folded.

When the 3c fell on the turn I breathed a sigh of relief hoping my opponent wasn't holding two clubs in the hole. Not only had I filled my flush but I had one chance at hitting a gut shot straight flush draw. No here's where I think I made another mistake. I'm thinking that betting only about 2/3 of my stack instead of going all in sent a message to my opponent that I was unsure of my hand. Holding 5c,7c I should have considered that there were several larger clubs out there that could beat mine and I should have been acting accordingly but no, I wasn't seeing it that way. I wasn't accepting the fact that this guy could have a better hand than mine. And then there was that far, far off chance that the 4c would fall on the river and fill a straight flush for me. I bet and he called all in so I called leaving me 48 chips. He showed 9c,10c and my heart sank.

When the 7h fell on the river I knew it was over. No 4c was coming to save me at the last minute. I had taken the chance of a lifetime and blew it. Why? It was a stupid call. Why would I play 5c,7c? Why? Why would I call when player 9 raised to 560? It was ridiculous.

I didn't give up though. If remember one time before I wrote, "It ain't over till it's over". I tried to put that into practice once again. I built those 48 chips back up to 2085 chips and was 304th out of 352 by the first break. But I couldn't make it last. The cards just weren't falling my way and I wasn't playing patient enough to wait on the right cards. I ended up finishing 270th and ended my one chance at cashing in on the biggest pot I may never see again.

If I played that hand and I would if the blinds are still low.(I try and get in as many hands as possible while blinds are low and it dont
cost as much chips)and that flop came, the only thing I would of done Different is checked and than called the raise if not too big.

If I raised and than called the re - raise like in your post above than I would think the other player had a made hand.Maby hit trips - Two Pair
and was trying to scare of any draws.I would not put him/her on a flush draw so I would be all in on the turn.

Nice Come back with the 48 chips to over 2000.

Don't let it get to you,It happens to us all.If you put your mind to it you can get another ticket and try again.

Good Luck !!!

FIRST OF ALL, are you trying to say that THE TICKETMAN4U cant win another ticket. pfffft!! stop that sniveling mister. you did it once you can do it again. but not with that attitude. you know what you did wrong. you know that can play better than that. SO all that is left is to do just that.

i slow played a pocket pair of aces out of greed, and wish to punish the weak. and look what it got me. we play we win and lose, but we dont forget our lessons. no we push forward and continue to improve. some of the best lessons are those we learn from failure.

so you may never get hand fed a ticket, too a game of that pot size again. ( lol ) is that reason enough, to kick yourself in the man sack. i think not! time is money so we have all heard. in poker, time is the money you lost or squandered away or in this case ticket. but the issue is you have to pay to become a better player.

so you  made a installment on your next level of progress. so suck it up and move up to the next level.
any one can asz it up.  but it is up to you to get over IT !!

mine is somewhat also "a wasted opportunity i may never have again"...in building a good bankroll.
i got a $5 free money here at PFP for Optimuspoker bonitas. then played on NLimit .02.04 tables and managed to bring it up to $63. i was feeling so good & played more. until it went down to just $23.
i went to the 3.30 buyin. won 1st place out of 170plyrs. got a whooping $450!! i said wow from $5 to $470!
i knew it is a good bankroll. my brother told me to just stick on playing at .02 . 04 tables but I didn't listen to him. i went up NL .10.20 tables & got hurt so bad w/ too many badbeats!
to cut the story short, i only have $175 now left. i guess if i have stayed on .02 .04 & didn't play 20hrs/day straight for 1wk then i may still have that opportunity to go higher w/ my bankroll.
i'm sure PFP will read this & would really make him proud w/ what i could have accomplished w/ his $5.

@ highestkicker023

Congrats on turning that $5 into a nice amount.

I did the same thing you mention above many times.I build a nice roll out of nothing and than get bad beats
put on me that cost me most my Cash.I think it is from the hours of play.No matter how good you play you
are eventually going to go on a bad run and hit bad beats. So I learned not to play my bank rolls to death by
playing at one site for too long.Once you start getting those bad beats its time to give that site a rest and
move on to another.

I don't think going up in limits was what got you.Your BR was big enough to go up and try higher blinds.
I would of tryed the .05/.10 tables first before going up to .10/.20 even though I find the best play is at
the .10/.20 tables.

That's my 2 cents - Good Luck !! [/b[

Thank you my friends for the words of advice and supports. I say friends because your comments were honest and truthful. I know now that the FS 50k should be look at as a great opportunity to learn from. I've decided to quit whining about it and move on. To use it to grow from and improve my playing abilities. I know that negative attitudes bring about negative actions so if I sit down at a table thinking I'm going to lose then I've already defeated myself before the first card have even been dealt. It's taime to get back to the tables and start looking forward to my next "chance of a lifetime".
