Some people think that it is stupid to go all-in early in these big freerolls like many people do, with marginal hands like 10/9 suited, KJ, any small pair etc.  You are not that big of an underdog with any two live cards, much less a pair.  In these big tournaments you need to accumulate a lot of chips and the advantage of building a large stack early outweighs the risk of busting out...and you are usually not that big an underdog and getting great odds as very ofter 2 or more people are all in as well.  The alternative is waiting around for a hand, hope that you get action, then probably get called by 2 or more players because they have much bigger stacks then you because they won those early all-ins.  Then when you do get your big hand, you're not that big a favorite.  I am a very tight aggressive player in the ring games, but freeroll tourneys are a different story...if you want to win.

Well, well, well, Hmmmmmm....... I go against that strategy!  I by the way have not deposited any cash to any site I do play now or have played since March 15, 2007.  All of my bank rolls have been from free rolls.  The strategies I use do not involve the luck needed in the above post.

So could you tell me how much cash has been channeled to your poker sites?

That cash could of been used else where.  Just please do not let your bad habits change your way of life.  True 2 live cards are nice, but what value do you put on your time when you lose?  Play cards right and they pay in stead of you paying them!

Every body's time is money one way or an other.

I have to agree with cow on this one, sometimes at the start of a freeroll I dont even play the first 10 or 15 hands cause of play like what you are describing. I have won my fair share of freerolls and always with solid play.I see alot of players going inn with junk and getting lucky, get chipped up but when push comes to shove they never make the bubble, most of the time I will note this garbage play and be happy to take your chips later with a solid KK or AK.

Well agree with you both. You have to take advantage
off the beginning off a freeroll were there are players
going all in just to try and double up if you catch a good
hand go all in.If you double or triple up than tighten up
your game and play smart poker and theres a good chance
you will make into the money. But only go all in or call an all
In with a real good hand.

This is the strategy I use when playing freerolls.Useing your
own cash I just play smart poker because the players at a freeroll game and the players at a cash game are two different types
off games.Untill you get to the final table were there should be
mostly good players.

Solution to the glass is half full - half empty ......

If you are taken something out of the glass than its half empty if you are putting something in the glass than its half full..

I don,t agree with the 1st post. But i will go ALL IN with AA , KK or QQ only early to take the chips off these fools. Of course I,m even nervous with KK and QQ because the ACE-Rag player can catch that ace.

I dont know about that stratagy cause you can easily lose your whole stack just as quickly you can gain it.  I dont see nothing wrong with going all in but i think you must Pick and choose the best times and situations that would give you the best odds at pulling out the win

This is my opinion about going all in.  The name of the game is NO LIMIT Holdem not limit poker not limit holdem so if someone wants to go all in every time its their turn to bet so be it.  But believe me they will get caught by a sleeper thats hiding in the bushes like a snake.  And when they cross paths with him his tourny will be toast

First of all who cares what anyone thinks in a freeroll, unless its a big money or private freeroll in which case you should treat it like a buy in.  In  a freeroll do whatever you want, the problem with your playing style is there is nothing wrong with playing fast, unfortunately you arent playing poker, nor are you going to get the biggest stack that way.  It is okay to play every two cards, and even raise with them I have employed that, but you need to try and hit some flop and bluff off the flops to get more chips, unless you are playing surrounded by idiots no one is going to call all in all in allin preflop without the best hand, if you raise half the pot or pot with hands like 910 you might be quite succesfull, also calling reasonable raises with all connected cards early is a good strategy. This is actually how Gavin Smith and Erick Lindgren play early in tourneys and reccommend that strategy.
