In the poker circles I regularly travel, I have a rep of being the guy who will lose to a 1-outer 80% of the time it's possible. Others who seem to get in ahead much of the time only to lose in the end have admitted they are no match for me in that category.

Last week however, something happened, I won a private 60ish person freeroll and a couple days later took 4th in a private 96-person, $5 tourney. By my typical standards, it's amazing to go that long without running into a sick suckout. The end of the second tourney was the end of the no-bad-suckout run though. Holding J8 in BB, flop J8x....I check, villain pushes all in, I call. JT v. J8.......turn 9, river 7......runner runner straight....I'm out.

One day later. Mid way in a private FR....all money goes in preflop....KK v. villain's QQ.....Q on the flop, I'm out again.

Same day, cash game....with 99, I flop set of 9s on a 942 rainbow board. I bet, villain reraises, I just call thinking maybe a lower set or bigger pair, neither I'm afraid of. Turn 8, he bets big, I call. River 7, he bets, I move in, he calls with JT.......runner runner nut straight, AGAIN!!!!!

Unbelieveable.

Yes, poker is back to normal.

I have had those streaks!  Just keep playing solid poker and in the long run the odds will straighten themselves out.

Also losing is a stronger emotion so you remembering it better.

Hang in there and start hanging others as long they are not me, PLEASE! Grin

Every player, even the PRO,s have those streaks. Dry times where you lose every Coin Toss for awhile. I may have the JJ vs the Ace-K and the Ace flops. Next time I have the Ace-King against the JJ and can,t hit anything. But the sukk-outs won,t last. You just remember them better. Solid play and it will balance out.

My worst habit it the last hand before the break, i tend to get dealt a good hand and then someone gets lucky on the river and I end up losing all my chips or most of them. I hate the river chasers when you have them beat all the way and they luck out on you.

Solution to the glass is half full - half empty ......

If you are taken something out of the glass than its half empty if you are putting something in the glass than its half full..
