Trophy Collection / It's not much
« on: November 12, 2010, 03:13:44 PM »
It's not much but it put a few extra dollars in my pocket. Met Underdog140 at the table for a few hands and we got to play for a little bit and exchange a few words together. Always good to see a friendly face at the table.

Congratulations TicketMan4u,

Out of 79 players in Tournament 9220225 ($3 NL Hold'em - Turbo), you came in 4th
and have won $21.92.

You've also been awarded 2.1 Frequent Player Points for participating in the
tournament.

Kind Regards,

Off Topic / Comment on my Posts please!
« on: November 11, 2010, 07:24:03 PM »
I have been guilty of this on occassion myself so don't think I'm just tossing bullets at everybody else, but I've notice many times that members take the time to write useful posts, or they'll post screen shots of their most recent win and they'll have like 200 views and only 3 comments.
Now come on people, if you read my post at least do me the service of leaving me your thoughts and comments on what I put out there for you to look at. Even if it's just a few words. And remember you get credits for posting those replies that you can you use on the store to buy things like money at Ironduke or on occassion somewhere else.
So come on everybody. next time you read a post, leave a comment. I've sure PFP will appreciate it also because if I'm not wrong in a way this site benefits from the number of posts we members produce. So come on, lets help out everyway we can.
We can help each other by offer encouraging words or helpful criticism about each others posts and in turn benefit PFP too. So next time you read a post take a minute ot two to leave a comment behind. I know I will appreciate it. Maybe others will too.

I haven't been very active lately cause I really haven't had anything much to brag about. Been playing freerollls mostly especially the FeltStars poker 50k freeroll cause I've been busted on all my accounts. Won a FS $20 freeroll but I just let that one pass. This one I gotta yell, hoop, and holler about.
I won a little contest sponsored by a member of another forum a belong to that got me a small stake on UltimateBet. I palyed with that for a little while working it up and down until it was nearly gone. Then I entered a $750 Guaranteed. Check out the screen shot below for the results. This was the biggest prize I have ever won playing poker to date. Now maybe if I practice some good bankroll management I might be able to play for awhile.

Poker / My friends helped me almost make it happen again
« on: October 06, 2010, 09:52:05 PM »
Awhile back I was feeling sorry for myself and I ran a post here after losing what I called my chance of a lifetime thinking that I may never have another one like it.

Everyone here was spot on with their comments and support which helped me see that I didn't really lose anything. What I had gained was a valuable learning experience.

Last Tuesday night I proved to myself that they were right. I played the FeltStars poker 50K Freeroll again. I didn't win but I could have if I had played a little smarter. I made it to the final table of 10 players and finished 9th.

My downfall came when I was 5th of 12 left. Again I wasn't paying attention getting too excited over making a hand and not thinking about what my opponent might be holding. The screenshot of the hand below tells it all. But I want to thank you all for giving me the support and confidence to go back and try again. I know I can do it now and I know someday I will. Thanks again my friends.

Poker / A wasted opportunity I may never have again
« on: September 26, 2010, 09:58:40 PM »
Looking back over today's game I feel like I wasted an opportunity I may never have again. I'm making myself sick just thinking about it again. I played real tight to begin with folding everything cause I was getting nothing to play with. Then I won a couple of small pots and I guess got a little over confident.

When I drew 5c,7c in the Small Blind position with the blinds at 15/30 I took a chance and called when player 4 raised to 3xBB. I should have remained tight and folded but I didn't. The flop came Qc,2s,6c which made it even worse cause that put me on a flush draw which is hard for me to resist even with low hole cards. I bet 4xBB which obviously wasn't enough to scare anybody cause player 4 called and player 9 raised to 560. That right there should have been red flag number two that told me to fold but I ignored it. I called, player 4 reading the signs right folded.

When the 3c fell on the turn I breathed a sigh of relief hoping my opponent wasn't holding two clubs in the hole. Not only had I filled my flush but I had one chance at hitting a gut shot straight flush draw. No here's where I think I made another mistake. I'm thinking that betting only about 2/3 of my stack instead of going all in sent a message to my opponent that I was unsure of my hand. Holding 5c,7c I should have considered that there were several larger clubs out there that could beat mine and I should have been acting accordingly but no, I wasn't seeing it that way. I wasn't accepting the fact that this guy could have a better hand than mine. And then there was that far, far off chance that the 4c would fall on the river and fill a straight flush for me. I bet and he called all in so I called leaving me 48 chips. He showed 9c,10c and my heart sank.

When the 7h fell on the river I knew it was over. No 4c was coming to save me at the last minute. I had taken the chance of a lifetime and blew it. Why? It was a stupid call. Why would I play 5c,7c? Why? Why would I call when player 9 raised to 560? It was ridiculous.

I didn't give up though. If remember one time before I wrote, "It ain't over till it's over". I tried to put that into practice once again. I built those 48 chips back up to 2085 chips and was 304th out of 352 by the first break. But I couldn't make it last. The cards just weren't falling my way and I wasn't playing patient enough to wait on the right cards. I ended up finishing 270th and ended my one chance at cashing in on the biggest pot I may never see again.

You may not believe it but last night I won one of the FeltStars poker $50K Guaranteed Entry Freeroll Tournaments. Not the $50K Tourney itself but the one where you win the $109 entry coupon. I got really lucky several times in this game and even won playing a 7, 2 suited hand too. I even won $9.00 to start a small bankroll. I know it's hard to believe considering the way I play but here's the proof.

Poker / Not as Lucky Tonight.........
« on: September 20, 2010, 12:14:47 AM »
I might of finished 3rd last night in the $300 game and started a small bankroll but after tonight's buy-in, a re-buy, and an add-on I cut those winnings by more than half when I got knocked out 15th when johnblazewon420 hit a 6c on the river filling and open ended straight putting me and pooporator out of the game.
I started off as BB with 3h, 4s so like a dummy when pooporator raised 600 I called 300. The flop came 10h, 4d, 7c and again pooporator bets 600 and I have a feeling so I call. johnblazewon420 had a feeling too cause he was calling also. When 4c dropped on the turn I thought I had it so I went all in figuring they would fold but no, they both called.
When pooporator showed Ad, 2s I thought, what in the world was he thinking. By the time I saw johnblazewon420 had 8h, 9h it was too late. The 6c fell on the river and all the chips were sliding his way and I was trying to figure out how I had lost. It's all here in the screen shot. See for yourself.

Trophy Collection / 3rd Place Again
« on: September 19, 2010, 08:35:24 PM »
I've been finishing out of the money for awhile but I got lucky last night and finished 3rd in the Optimuspoker Bonitas North America Circuit $300. And when I say lucky I mean lucky. Everybody that sat at a table with me can tell you I caught some real breaks and should have been put out several times way sooner than I was. In the end I got way too cocky and impatient playing some very marginal hands and I lost my lead and I suffered I consequences. But in the end.....I did finish 3rd.
