I by my own standard always fold a gunshot if I flop one unless of course i hit a pair to go with it but have noticed it hitting alot lately
and wanted some imput on how other players play when the flop a gunshot?
-
Do you mean 'gutshot'? If so, I try not to chase a straight.
-
It's really a matter of whether the cost to chase is affordable and whether the opponent is the type who will probably pay you off when you catch so that the implied odds are there.
-
Exactly, make it cheap enough... and I will go to the river. I do love those free cards too :)
I so rarely hit a gutshot tho, more often its the flush or open ended straight that will hit
-
You say you notice a lot hitting now. There is no way for you yo know haw many are not hitting unless the players is allin. Several times you see those players calling til the river bet then folding. I wonder how many of those could be on a gutshot draw.

I rarely even hit OPEN ENDED str8,s. FLUSH like crazy on MERGE sites but never hit the str8,s. Good advice earlier if its really cheap and your last to call so it won,t get re-raised it may be okay. But your chasing a MAX 4 outer and if you hit it players will probably all FOLD.I never chase Gut Shots. But a little tip I sometimes put in a minimum bet myself if I,m 1st to act hoping it may freeze the other players from betting.
