Title: NCAA Basketball talk by eberetta1
Post by: eberetta1 on February 26, 2010, 12:49:53 AM
Second night in a row. You bet on a team favored to win by double digits. Tonight my team scores 17 points in the first half(Pacific) and losing by 7. I can guarantee they will pull off a win.

Yesterday the same malarkey. Yesterday, Mississippi scored 22 first half points vs Auburn
then in the second half pours it on thick scoring 63 points in the 2nd half to win 85-75.
I believe some point shaving opportunities exist. They probably have a name for this style of play.
I think I will call it the West Coast offense. Just like in NFL football, KC can score 35 points in a qtr
and still lose a game. Only in this use of it they score a fourth of the points in the first half and 3/4 of their points in the 2nd half. This makes me puke.

What should be a no-brainer moneyline bet becomes a wait til 3 minutes before the game is over before worrying about a thing.  Tonight's game they finally catch up with 6 minutes left, compared to yesterday the team waited til 3 minutes to make it a tie game, before moving on to win by double digits. Just my rant for the night...

Betting no college games today. Looks like it is almost champion vs champion games now.
That is like being in a poker tourney with AK vs JJ, it seems like a coin flip , so I just
avoid those betting situations as much as possible. The only game I wanted was West Virginia
favored to beat Georgetown by 2.5 points. West Virginia has won last 2 meetings , but even that game,
some injured kid is back for Georgetown and he is their leading scorer, so can't get in that game.

Could not keep my hand off the bet button. I bet the last game of the night and it cost me $181.
Utah State just could not do the job. All they had to do was win the game after playing the same team a week earlier they had won by 18 points. Maybe resting their key players produced the wrong results. I read many teams are playing their best players less then 26 minutes to keep them fresh for the upcoming tourneys.

Jumped on the bandwagon again. Since there was but 1 NCAA game today I went ahead and bet on the Utah Jazz to win by 11 points. They won the game something like 112-89 but I won only $14.
Need to get my $181 loss from yesterday reeled back in.

Okay, reeled in some of my losses from the other day. I wish it was possible to win it as fast as I can lose it.
Risked $42 on the moneyline and won $14 when the Atlanta Hawks defeated the New Jersey Nets by 108-84. I made the above bet in case they did not cover their 7 point spread. Atlanta covered their 7 point spread comfortably, so my $15 Atlanta  -7 points bet to win $14 came through also.
That's the way, uh-huh uh-huh, I like it, uh-huh uh-huh.

Ok, won 5 bucks yesterday when Morehead State beat Colorado State by a score of 74-60.
Risking $22 to win $5 on todays game hoping New Mexico puts away the Montana Grizzlies.
The Grizzlies looks like they have lost 6 of their last 7 games.

Risking $25 to win $5 choosing Pittsburgh to end the season for Oakland.
This should be an easy win, since both teams have lost to Syracuse,
by 10 and by 32, respectively.

How did your bet go zforfree?

Won $5 on my Pittsburgh bet 89-66. My team was losing by 4 points 7 minutes into the game.
Some guy on Oakland got his head bleeding when an elbow got him when someone was getting a rebound. By the time he came back with 6 stitches, my team had went on a 29-12 run to make his return not much of a factor.

Risked $15 and won $5 when Duke quaked California 6.8 to 5.3

I have won 7 bets in a row, but I know my real test is when I lose a bet and then try to refrain from a 30 unit bet the next bet out. Reminder to self not to chase. It is taking all month to recover the $182 I dropped in one shot when it could have been just a $30 loss. I am due for a loss within 5 more bets.

Risking $20 to win $5 that Rhode Island can defeat Nevada.
Lost $15 earlier in the year when Nevada was favored by 4 points and ended losing a game by 10 points.

Risking $20 to win $5 that Illinois moneyline defeats Kents State.

This would be a risk the farm bet, but I want to get back to even after making a large bet that lost one of my books for me. So I promised to make 1 unit bets until I was back to even. After being down $182 because of one bet, I have whittled down the loss to under $60 in $5 increments.

Won my Rhode Island bet 85-83 and won my Illinois bet 75-58.

Today I am risking $20 to win $5 that Kentucky will end Cornell's Cinderella season.
Both teams have played Drexel. Cornell beat Drexel by 7 points and Kentucky beat
Drexel by 44 points.

Glad Kentucky rolled over Cornell. I was surprised to see the Orangemen go down, but they said one of their key players was injured. At this level of play, it is hard to lose a key player and not have the depth to pick from on the bench.
