Title: 100 Credits for worst Bad Beat (Winner Has Been Picked)
Post by: sheepies on August 27, 2008, 06:11:02 PM
Submit your bad beats below. Worst one wins 100 Credits!!

I have a story thats still makes me mad. I was playing at UltimateBet (http://banners.chipleader.com/banners/redirect.php?id=13&cmpgn_id=12627&prdct_id=1&cat_cd=UB) where I never again played after this hand. It was a few years ago. I was playing .50/ $1 nl holdem. I worked my way up from $40 to $300... This one guy was very aggressive and always was raising and betting. I was on the blind and he was on the small blind. I was holding a Q 8 suited. Everyone folded, but mr aggressive, who as always raised me 2 times the blind. I called knowing he was full of it as always. The flop was Q 8 8. I was dancing laughing. I knew for a facthe did not have pocket queens cause whenever he had a hand like that he didnt raise. I alson knew he didnt have 88 because I had an 8..I knew I had him. Of course he comes out betting the pot, I just called. The turn card was a 2. He came out betting like $90. I was laughing, as a waited a little and reraised him to $150, he came back and reraised me. It turned into a reraise battle until we were all in with about a $700 pot. He shows a K8, and I show my Q8, dancing with my full house. As I am dancing the river flops in my face a K....Unreal..I was sick for a couple days!!

A little while back I sat down at a 1/2 NL cash game with about $70.

It was a good cash table as far as I was concerned, no super donks, mostly friendly table.
I was doing decent and built my stack to about $140.
What happened next is when I realized the poker gods just HATE me..... lol

A friend of mine called me and was waiting for me to come by so I gave myself 10 minutes to play, no matter what and I was out of there. I had just built my stack up, so I promised myself I was only going to play premium hands and nothing else.. PERIOD. So I'm checking my watch, and I'm just about to become the big blind.... it's the 9th minute, so I realize, fine, this it it and I'm outta here...... no matter what, and then it happened, the hand that had made me want to quit poker.. lol

Ok, so yes it's my final hand of the night, in the big blind, and when I peek down what do I see?

Kd Kc !!! WooHoo!!

So, I'm so glad that I decided to play this 1 last hand, etc, etc. YeeHaa! lol

Anyway, back to the hand. So it goes limp, limp, limp, raise to $7, 2 callers to the raise and it gets to me in the BB, and I make $25 to go. A guy in early position calls me and the raiser calls me. (Small side note on the raiser, within the last 15 minutes he has been buying pots and losings the showdowns on the blinds he couldn't buy, so I'm happy he's in the hand). Sooooo.... there's about $85 in the pot, 3 players.

FLOP: 9h Th 3d

I'm liking the flop obviously, no A's out, and I'm first to act. With the flush & straight draws out there and the fact that the rest of the cards are on the low side, the only hands I'm worried about right now are a set of tens, and possibly AA. Irregardless, it is my last hand, and I really don't put either of these guys on those hands, so I push all in for my last $100 to stave off the flush / straight drawers and take down a nice pot as I go home. Welllllll the first guy folds, and the initial raiser INSTACALLS with.......

9d Td !!!!!!!!!

I get it that people like suited connectors and all, but this is a 1/2 table. He made it $7 and I pushed it more than triple that. Obviously if the flop had been any different I would have loved that call.

But just the way it happened, last hand, KK, decent flop, then that.... RRRRR..

Ewwwwwwwww,
Nothing you can do on a hand like that. Got to love those people. The best thing that would of ever happened is if the poker gods threw a 3 out on the river. Thats what he deserved. I love when that happens!!

Here's one that still hurts, and a lesson at the end.
.10/.20 NL RioPartyCasino

been playing for awhile.one of those not winning but not losing games.so,i finaly get decent pkts and KK.a few limp in and i decide to rasie it up a few blinds.after a few callers it's time for the flop.
flop comes  K-7-7. ;D SAAWEET.check check and i bet the pot.(just a few $$$ as this is .10/.20).everyone folds except one.the only player at the table with more cash than me.i have like $26 & change,he's at $29 & change.he re-rasies me and i'm like hmmm???
i've floped a K full of 7's boat what he floped???maybe triped 7's?
maybe he has the other K & 7 for 7 full K's.??? pkt 7S & quads???nah.i push ALL-IN  ,he calls:(probably around $60 something in the pot):

me>KK      HIM>A7

flop> K77  turn>A  (I STILL GOT HIM ;D)

RIVER>    A       ()(&^*@^&@^%&*&(*)#) :o :'(.

UNBELILLLLLEVABLE.AND BROKE.

LESSON:when i went to the table i meant to just take the minimum.
but when i was seated i realized i brought my intire bank.i thot i'd just be cool with it and play smart.should of got out of there and re joined w/ what i could afford to lose,lol.OUCH.

I'll probably not win anything for this story but telling it at least gives me some therapeutic value to ease the pain.  I was playing in one of the Cake (http://juicystakes.eu/?t=20334&Lang=en) $1000 or $2000 guaranteed tourneys ( $2 or $5 entry), I can't remember which.  About 400 people started.  I had done extremely well and the final table had just assembled (thus, 10 are left).  Only one guy has more chips than I and just barely.  The other 8 players are fairly distant.  I am thinking about a decent cashout on this baby.  Not life-changing money by any stretch; but a few hundred bucks.  I can play a long time on that (I'm basically a 1$ or $2 tourney guy).  The Big Stack is being a real bully right off the get-go.  Big raises every time, driving me and the others out.  After a few crummy deals, I get A-A.  Big Stack Bully does his usual big raise thing and then it's my turn.  I re-raise him big.  He goes ALL-IN!!  Now I am really thinking.  Several of the other players are down to just the blinds and then they are history.  I still have plenty of chips and if I fold and just sit there, I'll finish 3rd or 4rth at least.  I KNOW I have the best starting hand, period.  No way am I gonna fold.  I call.  We turn over our cards.  My A-A appears and he has 2-4 offsuit.  2-4 OFFSUIT!!!!????  You gotta be kidding me!!  What is he thinking??  Before I can start laughing, the flop comes:  3-5-6 rainbow.  Yes, he flopped a straight.  I don't even remember what the last two cards were.  I just stared at the screen as my A-A and avatar faded away.  I stared for another 30 seconds or so in total disbelief, turned off the computer and went to bed.  I'll never understand why he did what he did, nor will I ever forgive the poker gods for that hand.  It's like one of those weird hands you see happen to somebody else and you feel pain for them even though you're not involved.  This, however, was first-person.

Ok,

I got one for ya.  Im playing 1/2 no limit at Cake (http://juicystakes.eu/?t=20334&Lang=en).  I sat with about 100 bucks and had worked it up to almost 800 due in great part to the loose players at the table.  Every hand someone would make it 12 bucks or 20 bucks no matter what they had.  So im in the big blind and the UTG position makes it 12 the other 5 players call so i figure why not with my 10 2. Flop comes 2 2 10 and im stoked.  It checks to me so I bet about the pot hoping to catch a guy with some pockets.  Folds to a guy I have pegged as crazy. He makes it 250 to go.  Without hesitation i put my whole stack in the middle roughly 800 bucks.  He instacalls with 4 4.  Turn comes an ace.......and the river a 4.  I could not believe that he called my all in....1600.00 plus dollars in the pot...now thats a bad beat

RAW.

i played a $60 sattelite at foxwoods where top 2 advance to the next round..i won and playeyed the next $250 sattelite and came top 2 again to win a $1,100 sattelite seat to there $10,000 main event...that sunday i played the satt. and was down to 8 times the big blind after 3 hours of play and 5 from the money(main event seat)when the bad beat hand came...on the bb i had k-9 off everyone folded to the button who made the call painfully(he was a big stack) the small blind folded...i moved all-in and the button called with 5-7 off !!...the flop came Q-9-3 rainbow and i was a 95% favorite with my pair of 9's ...then came the 8 and river brought the 6 to give him the str8 !!!! i would have had enough chips to get the $10,000 seat if my hand held up

My goodness Jimmy.  If he would have at least had the two in his hand you would have been able to at least stomach it, albeit it would have sucked.  Losing to an ace high on board quads after flopping a full house--now that's a bad beat.

Try this playing Omaha hi/low two different sites and you get these hands in less than five minutes a part:

Just can not play serious Omaha hi/ low with them!  I also got JJ  10 10 two times 4 hands apart.  Just not poker for me today! :-X  :'(
