Poker / Hitting trips on river
« on: August 30, 2008, 05:59:39 PM »
So, you are in a 5/10$ game and the pot is 400$ with 3 limped players and 1 raiser.

What u do with your 120$ stack when you hit trips on the river with 3s3c??

always watch what other ppl do and how they react (hard on internet)

Poker / before flop
« on: August 30, 2008, 05:57:08 PM »
are any two cards good cards before flop.or is it best to wait for the big boys?

Its best to be patient and wait for cards to come, unless your in the blinds, then you might wanna see a cheap flop if nobody raises.

Poker / small pairs
« on: August 30, 2008, 05:55:51 PM »
in early position if i call with small pairs and get raised what should i do?

With small pairs I try to see the flop at least...unless its allin...then if its really small pair I will probably fold...

Poker / J10 suited vs. 55
« on: August 30, 2008, 05:54:30 PM »
J10 suited or AK suited against pocket 55?? J10- suited is actually favourite over 55 yeah??

in a heads up situation, and when u know the other person has pocket 5s, then yea J10 would be better since theres more chance for straight. But how often will u get heads up while knowing for sure the other person has pocket 5s?

Poker / Pocket AA

What is the best hand goin against pocket AAs. Pre flopp

there really is no better hand because pocket aces is the best pre flop starting hand. the only good thing would be to have a hand without an ace, so at least u have 2 live cards. then just hope to hit 2 pair or make a straight. of course, suited cards are even better, since pocket aces cant be suited, so theres an added advantage.

who wins

one hand poket aces the other poket kings

on the flop A A Q turn J river 10

Poker / flush draw VS 2 pair on the flop
« on: August 30, 2008, 05:51:31 PM »
To calculate odds just count your number of outs on the flop and multiply by 4 and on the turn multiply by 2.

for exampleif someone has two pair and needs to hit either one of those cards.. he has 4 outs on the flop: 4*4=16% on the turn u would multiply by 2

Poker / How to act with small pocket on the bottom.
« on: August 30, 2008, 05:49:44 PM »
What will be the best thing to do if you have a pocket pair 2-5 on the button with about 4 player in on the blind. There are time I raise and the flop does not hit and I end up bluffing because I have invested too much. What will a PRO do?

Poker / texas hol'em tight play
« on: August 30, 2008, 05:47:54 PM »
What's the use of tight play. everyone will know and fold if you bet

tight play work best against loose aggresive ignorant players where your plays will still get payed off. playing tight values preflop will help your decision making in future rounds. you will usually either hit or miss the flop playing marginal flops will often leave you with second best hands

like to tight play against the aggressive ones. But if you have pocket aces you need to bet pre-flop

Poker / Do pocket aces win as much as they lose?
« on: August 30, 2008, 05:46:45 PM »
Do PKT ACES hold up as much as they lose? does anyone have the percentages?
i dont do too well with them?

acse are the best possible starting hand they win around 80% of the time against random cards. the reason you are losing with aces often is you are probably not thinning the field well enough aces dont play well in multiway pots

Poker / Pre-Flop Question
« on: August 30, 2008, 05:44:18 PM »
assume the following:

- your MP2 at a 9 or 10 handed table.
- everyone folds to you so you're opening the pot.
- you have MP3, CO, Button and the blinds still to act.
- the table is fairly aggressive.
- you're an eagle according to everyones pokertracker stats (tag)

what do you do with the following hands:

a) 77
b) 88
c) QJs
d) QTs
e) ATo
f) KTo
g) JTs
h) A9s

You can't just look at this situation as call, call, fold, raise or whatever. There are things you need to take into account...What kind of players do you have on your left? Do the blinds defend with most of their hands? Are ANY of the players behind you aggressive and prone to reraise thus, possibly shutting you out of the pot? Also, are you playing limit, pot-limit, no-limit because they all require different decisions based on different factors. The biggest one though...How do the other players perceive your play? Do they think you're solid? Loose and agressive? A rock? If the players see you as solid they'll give you more respect but if they think you're loose and getting even slightly out of line, you're going to get tested by any halfway decent player. You want to avoid tricky decisions if you can and doing anything with players yet to act without thinking about all these factors is like flying blind and you will be forced into tough decisions much more often than you need to be.

Poker / All In With pocket hands
« on: August 30, 2008, 05:42:52 PM »
Going all in with pocket hands doesn't always loose but don't expect that if you are on tourney turbo table with pocket kings and you go all in dont forget that even a 3 2 offsuit call can bust out...I ve had some players on the net who called me a donk by calling kk with q7 suited and i also had the highest stack on that table and i flopped the flush and they went crazy.
