Pocket Aces
« on: September 05, 2008, 04:16:32 PM »
For some reason whenever I hit pocket aces, my automatic inclination is to go all in (or bet ridiculously big), no matter what position I'm in at the table or my chip count. What I hate more than anything is having to fold a high pocket pair because the flop show a flush draw. What's your take?

That's surely a less than optimal way to play AA.  Even when the flop comes with two of a suit, there's no assurance that the opponent has even one card of the flush suit.  And when there is a flush draw, it will still only come in a minority of the time.

I guess I play pocket Aces mostly going all in.  You can't limp in or the board will beat you.  I know they get beat lots of times, but I still think it's worth the risk.  The only time I don't do this is if it's the first few minutes of the tourney.  More people are likely to call an all in then.  I prefer to be HU with the hand.

LAY EM DOWN   lol   i hate em cause even when you getem someone has somesthing to call you with. No shit  2 days ago i was in freeroll 1.5 hours inn and i got AA of course i went inn like i knew i shouldent have and got call with Q 10 suited  what to do  any way the board comes 7-J straght man was I pissed. I think its 50 50 online with AA, well at least thats what it seems like to me. When I play eing games now for the most part if I can get away from the table after I get up,I do just in case I pick up the bullets and am forced to possibly lose it.
