Breaking Aces...

Too many times on these fourms you see people complain about losing with pocket aces in Holdem. It starts to get you thinking: how good really are pocket aces?

Everybody knows, even with good hands, the only way to maximize how much money you make off a hand is to play it well. Some people forget that when they loook down at pocket aces. They think that their hand has a certain invincibility, when in reality the only thing you have is a pair.

As I said earlier, pocket aces is not like a free ticket to take the pot down, you still have to play the hand. The number one thing to do is raise pre-flop to try to eliminate as many people as possible. DO NOT SLOW PLAY POCKET ACES. When pocket aces go up against another hand heads-up, the aces have an 85% chance of being the best hand. However, when the aces is one hand out of 4 hands, they have only a 50% chance of being the best hand. I almost like to relate aces to being like Tiger Woods (before the sex scandal). When the sports analysts used to talk about major golf tournaments, they always used to ask, " Who do you think is going to win, Tiger or the field?" Although Tiger probably has the best chance to win out of any single golfer, the field has a much better chance of winning the field than Tiger does.
