A little while back I sat down at a 1/2 NL cash game with about $70.
It was a good cash table as far as I was concerned, no super donks, mostly friendly table.
I was doing decent and built my stack to about $140.
What happened next is when I realized the poker gods just HATE me..... lol
A friend of mine called me and was waiting for me to come by so I gave myself 10 minutes to play, no matter what and I was out of there. I had just built my stack up, so I promised myself I was only going to play premium hands and nothing else.. PERIOD. So I'm checking my watch, and I'm just about to become the big blind.... it's the 9th minute, so I realize, fine, this it it and I'm outta here...... no matter what, and then it happened, the hand that had made me want to quit poker.. lol
Ok, so yes it's my final hand of the night, in the big blind, and when I peek down what do I see?
Kd Kc !!! WooHoo!!
So, I'm so glad that I decided to play this 1 last hand, etc, etc. YeeHaa! lol
Anyway, back to the hand. So it goes limp, limp, limp, raise to $7, 2 callers to the raise and it gets to me in the BB, and I make $25 to go. A guy in early position calls me and the raiser calls me. (Small side note on the raiser, within the last 15 minutes he has been buying pots and losings the showdowns on the blinds he couldn't buy, so I'm happy he's in the hand). Sooooo.... there's about $85 in the pot, 3 players.
FLOP: 9h Th 3d
I'm liking the flop obviously, no A's out, and I'm first to act. With the flush & straight draws out there and the fact that the rest of the cards are on the low side, the only hands I'm worried about right now are a set of tens, and possibly AA. Irregardless, it is my last hand, and I really don't put either of these guys on those hands, so I push all in for my last $100 to stave off the flush / straight drawers and take down a nice pot as I go home. Welllllll the first guy folds, and the initial raiser INSTACALLS with.......
9d Td !!!!!!!!!
I get it that people like suited connectors and all, but this is a 1/2 table. He made it $7 and I pushed it more than triple that. Obviously if the flop had been any different I would have loved that call.
But just the way it happened, last hand, KK, decent flop, then that.... RRRRR..
